PRICE is not everything but I can appreciate this is generally all you have to compare. (The DSA are planning to change this and introduce a star rating to help you. When? Don't know but when I do I will post it here!)
Hourly rates vary from school to school and it is fiercely competitive.
So budget for around £1000 to get through the test from scratch. That's the reality of it. If you have the aptitude to do it in less time or you are able to practice between lessons then you'll have change. Whichever school you choose this is roughly what it will cost you. There is a lot you can do between lessons to speed up the process and so save money. One way is buy the DSA's book Driving the Essential Skills available from all good book stores. It is very easy to read and contains all you need to know about driving!
I am an independent driving instructor. I keep my overheads low because I am not paying a franchise fee. It is my pleasure to offer you a competitive price you can afford and give a flexible, personal service.
See what others say then try me and decide for yourself. Try out several schools before you settle on one for the long haul. I am confident you will stick with me but if not, that's ok too.
Payment can be by Cash or Cheque† (see footnote)
Passing the driving test cannot be guaranteed but if you are highly motivated to pass, put the effort into your training, drive safely and with confidence then you stand a good chance of passing first time.
