Prices for Driving Lessons varies from school to school and it is fiercely competitive. However, the reality is, the overall price you will pay to get thru your test will be pretty much the same regardless of which driving school you choose. Attractive (but ludicrous) discounts at the start will be clawed back later with more overall lessons, or huge fees to hire the car for the test! The instructor with the "offers you can't refuse" discounts when you start still has a mortgage and bills to pay like everyone else! Remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch!

So you are advised to choose your driving school carefully, not just the one that seems the cheapest, because in the long run, it might not be. Driving Instructors are not all the same. Like most things in life you generally get what you pay for. Shop around, try a lesson or two with a number of instructors and pick one you are comfortable with and this will speed up your learning. Your progress will be very slow if you aren't at ease with your driving instructor, no matter how cheap the price!

Learning to drive must be fun - it isn't a punishment! Driving Instructors are not all the same.

Shortening the time and saving money is largely down to you and the effort you put in to learn.
