This is my syllabus that I use to teach you to drive.
1-7 generally get done in that order, i.e. you first master left turns before right turns and after that it isn't a strict order; I do things according to your ability and aptitude; manoeuvres I drop in where appropriate.

- Cockpit drill; controls
- Moving Off and Stopping safely
- Steering - often figure of 8 exercises if done on weekend.
- Braking Practice - progressive & accurate, at various speeds
- Left turns Major road to Minor road
- Right turns Major to Minor
- Emerging at T-Junctions to turn Left
- Uphill / Downhill / Angled starts
- Emerging T-Junctions to turn Right
- Passing stationary cars/ Adequate Clearance to both sides / Meeting traffic coming the other way.
- Adequate clearance to traffic in front & behind
- Advanced Mirror Use, why we do it, when we do it, what we look for etc.
- Roundabouts - in Milton Keynes this has to be done early on in your training; a lot of people worry about roundabouts - but there is no need. I generally have you confident with them in no time at all.
- Pedestrian Crossings. Types of, the law and how to deal with them.
- Emergency Stop
- Hazard Drill - types of hazard and how to deal with them all.
- Crossing the path of oncoming traffic
- Giving signals inc. single track roads & use of horn
- Traffic Signals inc. level crossings; traffic lights & junction boxes
- Anticipation & Reading the road ahead
- Country Driving - more anticipation
- Overtaking
- Town Driving
- Crossroads - approaching and emerging
- Traffic Queues: "Tarmac & Tyres"
- One Way Systems
- Dual Carriageways
- Straight Line Reverse
- Turn in the Road
- Left Reverse - on sharp and sweeping bends
- Bay park
- Parallel Park
