These terms and conditions are the basis upon which I do business. I agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. By accepting lessons with me you also agree with these terms and conditions. I reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time.

DATA PROTECTION

I do not hold personal details on any computer.
I keep only your name, address and phone number in my diary.

THE CAR

The car is regularly maintained. It will be clean, tidy and is fitted with dual controls. The car is fully insured for your lessons and test.

COURTESY

I will be courteous and polite.
I will make reasonable endeavours to be on time for your driving lessons.
You will get my full attention during your driving lesson and my mobile will be on silent.
I will not use bad language.
I expect the same considerations from you.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO DRIVE

You must hold a current, valid Driving Licence (Provisional or Full), which I will ask to see at the start of your first lesson. You must also comply with the regulations for eyesight which are that you can read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) with glasses/contact lenses if normally worn.

PAYMENTS

Payment can be by cash or cheque (made out to E S Sefton). At my discretion you may be permitted one lesson's credit. However, all monies owing from a previous lesson must be settled at the beginning of the next lesson.

Any money owing on the day of the driving test MUST be settled before the test starts or I will withdraw the use of the car for the test and I will not be held responsible for the loss of your test fee. There are no exceptions to this.

CANCELLATIONS & PUNCTUALITY

Please give as much notice as possible if you plan to cancel a lesson so that I can offer the slot to someone else. Please remember this is my livelihood, not a hobby. Cancellations less than 24hrs notice may be charged at my discretion. I may need to re-schedule your lesson in the event of breakdowns, illness, or if another pupil books a test that coincides with your lesson.

I reserve the right to discontinue your training.

THE PRACTICAL TEST

I do not book your driving test. The DSA system will prevent pupils from double booking me for practical tests if you provide them my ADI number at the time of booking. My ADI number is 307006.

If you book a driving test against my advice I reserve the right to refuse the use of my car for the test. I will not be held responsible for any money you lose by this.

I will use reasonable endeavours to ensure my car is roadworthy on the day of the test. I will check all bulbs are operational, tyres are legal, the washer is filled and there is sufficient fuel and oil on the day of the test. However, bulbs on cars can fail. I will not be held responsible for the cancellation of a test due to subsequent failure of any lights during any test.

If my car breaks down before your test but before the DSA deadline for postponing or cancelling your test you will be advised to postpone or cancel your test should I be unable to get the car fixed before your test. If you choose not to postpone or cancel your test I will not be held reposnible for the loss of your fee. If my car breaks down after the DSA deadline and I am unable to get it fixed by the time of your test I will refund your test fee but I will not be held reposnsible for any consequential losses arising from your inability to take the test.
